Wow….it’s that time of year again.
My mother always told me that life goes by faster as we get older. With Christmas upon us again, I’m inclined to agree with her analogy in this regard. It seems like Christmas 2018 just passed and here we are at Christmas 2019.
Speaking about my Mom….my beautiful and loving Mom, she sent an email letter to each of her 7 children early in November. It was a letter someone had shared with her and she felt it appropriate to pass on to us. I’d like to share that letter here as my Christmas post.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to one and all.
“My children ask me each year the same question.
WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR CHRISTMAS?
After thinking about it, I decided to give them my real answer:
I want you to keep coming around. I want you to ask me questions. Ask my advice. Tell me your problems. Ask for my opinion. Ask for my help. I want you to come over and rant about your problems, rant about life. Whatever, tell me about your job. Your worries. Your classes. I want you to continue sharing your life with me. Come over and laugh with me, or laugh at me. I don’t care, hearing you laugh is music to me. I want you to spend your money making a better life for you. I have the things I need. I want to see you happy and healthy. When you ask me what I want for Christmas I say “nothing” because you’ve already been giving me my gift all year. I WANT YOU!”
That is my Christmas post. Now that I’m older and wiser I appreciate the message in this letter from MOM!
I will do my best to give my MOM what she wants for Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS MOM….I LOVE YOU!
