Unhealthy Advertising to Kids!

It is no wonder that the obesity rates are staggering in North America.  It is no wonder that disease such as diabetes and cancer are on the rise and the age of people being diagnosed with these devastating diseases is getting younger and younger.  It is insane.  Can’t government, the medical profession, and food industry people put two and two together.  WAKE UP WORLD.

The food we are feeding our youngest people is making them sick.  Don’t you get it.  It isn’t food anymore.  It is denatured chemicals made to taste like food and create addiction to the consumer.  There might be some slight components of food in the processed junk but overall….it is “fake” food.  How can this junk nourish the most vulnerable growing and developing body of a child?

I know that life is busy now with both parents out working.  I know that this fake food is convenient.  BUT….how convenient will all this be if you have to spend hours on end, day after day, in a hospital while your child is being cared for because of an illness brought on by eating processed junk.  Now that possibility would motivate me to get back to the grass roots of proper nutrition.

The marketing of sugar laden, high fat, chemically loaded junk to children should be illegal.  Young children spend lots of time in front of televisions and the marketing people know it.  They pound out the commercials one after the other with tunes the children can sing word for word.  They splash the television screen with bright colours, comic characters, clowns etc. that children gravitate towards.  It is a no-brainer.    The kids get hooked on this marketing and this puts pressure on the parents to cave in to the childrens requests for this JUNK.

IT IS SO SAD!  IT IS SO MADDENING!  IT IS NOT FAIR!

IT IS ALL IN THE NAME OF CORPORATE GREED…..not your childrens health and wellbeing.

Think about this the next time you feed your little one processed, fast food, sugar laden cereal and cute packaged cookies and candies relating to a television show or commercial.
